Today’s video features Patricia Littman singing “Laudate Dominum,” from Mozart’s “Vesperae Solennes de Confessore.”
Patricia joined Consort in 2010, and ties Marty Friesen and Michael Petersen for the greatest number of individual solos with Consort, including the one we feature today. Her first solo performance was a brief section in the middle of Vivaldi’s “Dixit Dominus, V. Juravit Dominus,” in 2010 (with RuthE Wells).
Persons of the Day: Note Takers Around 2015 Ruthann Lovetang had the idea to formalize rehearsal notes, asking questions of Allan offline and then emailing them to the singers to save time during rehearsals. In 2017 Jon Curtis joined her in these efforts by moving the notes onto the website so they could be sorted and filtered. The two of them did all the notes that first year. In the years that have followed the task has been distributed among several other volunteers including, David Irvine, Michele Baroody, Judith Ward, Alexandra Amati, Andrea Fox, and Mago Huffman. |
Laudate Dominum omnes gentes: laudate eum omnes populi: quoniam confirmata est super nos misericordia ejus: et veritas Domini manet in aeternum. Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto. Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in saecula saeculorum. Amen.
Praise the Lord, all nations; Praise Him, all people. For His has bestowed His mercy upon us, And the truth of the Lord endures forever. Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and forever, and for generations of generations. Amen.
