Singer Update #7— 7/16

Consort Singers!
Hello, my darlings. So many things to talk about today! First and foremost, with the art and assistance of our own Lucy Arnold, we have a gorgeous flyer with which to promote our concert.

Also, pretty much my entire day was spent on Consort stuff, so! That means our website has been updated—the homepage has our new flyer and a link to the ticket page, which is now active and ready to take orders. Because we are offering student tickets again, I am testing out PayPal’s shopping cart coding—so folks can buy either type of ticket, and more than one! I’d be thrilled if someone who knows they want tickets would go ahead and help me test that out (hint hint—and any ticket purchase will do; you don’t have to get student tickets. I just want to make sure the coding works properly).

And I also have for you … as suggested last night, some music files for you. Here’s what I did: I transcribed all eight vocal parts of the Gjeilo Song of the Universal, and then, I transcribed the piano and string parts primarily where we aren’t singing, so if you’re interested, you can kind of get a sense of how those parts tie together. I exported the entire file as a MIDI and as an MP3, and then each of the eight parts is also exported as MIDIs and MP3s. Caveat: I can’t promise you it’s 100% correct. I listened to numerous parts of it multiple times, but errors will happen, so I apologize if there’s one in your part.

You can find all of the MIDI files here, and all of the MP3 files here, and if you happen to have MuseScore (I know some of you do) and want to fool around with the file I made, you can download that here.

That’s all for now. See you Saturday!

PS: I am also sending out Melissa Muller’s extended Cecílíada score, as Sanford mentioned last night. You can find the link below, along with the link for the Zoom meeting for Spain on Thursday, and the list of singers in the small choir for the Craig Hella Johnson piece.

Extended Cecílíada Score

Melissa Muller has very kindly created an “extended” score for Cecílíada, so that we don’t have to turn back so many pages to follow the score. Note that the pages still have the original page numbers, as well as a set of new page numbers that follow the pages in this packet. I’m hoping that will help us all follow along and find our place easily.
