We have our first choral workshop on the 22nd at First Presbyterian Church, Santa Rosa. The address is 1550 Pacific Ave. in Santa Rosa. The church takes up an entire city block. The parking lot can be accessed from either Spring Street or Park Street. Much easier and safer than parking on Pacific.
The rehearsal is from 9:30am until noon. I’m not sure where it will be held, probably the choir room. However, we may have to move to a larger room depending on attendance. I’ll make sure there is good signage.
Subsequent dates are November 19, January 21, February 18 and March 18 – same times – same place. Allan will conduct the March 18 rehearsal. (Note: the schedule is posted on the Consort Chorale calendar, and if you have subscribed to that calendar, they are automatically added to your calendar.)
There are no special COVID protocols for the rehearsals, but all are welcome to wear masks. We will try to spread out for distancing at the rehearsals.
Published copies are not yet available. Please use the following link to download and print the PDFs needed for each of the six movements. David has a few extra printed copies of the entire work for $12. Contact him if you are interested in purchasing one of those instead. If you sang in Consort last August (Opus 27) you already have the score for the first movement, "Light."
At this same link you can find sound (MIDI) files of the songs. You can also find a full recording of the first movement, "Light" by Consort, on YouTube: https://youtu.be/fhFd99DvhCQ
In a few weeks Allan hopes to have some of his SoCAL singers create specific listening tracks.
