Here is the information you need if you are interested in auditioning for Consort Chorale’s 27th Annual Summer Project & Concert which kicks off on Saturday May 16th at First Presbyterian Church, 72 Kensington Rd., San Anselmo, CA 94960.
We are continuing our registration and audition preparations with the best of intentions and hope that Consort will be able to launch its 27th year as planned. However, we are aware the situation is fluid and may need to be revised, or at the worst canceled altogether. We will let you know what further adjustments are needed as the future becomes more concrete. In the mean time, please let us know of your interest by submitting an Audition form now.
Auditions will be held Saturday May 16, 10-11:30am at First Presbyterian Church, San Anselmo for new singers and for returning Consort Chorale alumni singers who did not sing in Op #26 last summer. Other audition time possibly by arrangement.
First, please read the Invitation for our 27th Annual Summer Project which provides particulars with details, requirements, and repertoire info. The $100. non-refundable deposit due May 1 does not apply to auditioning new singers or re-auditioning alumni until after the audition results are known.
Consort Chorale meets only during the summer. Many of our singers are choral directors and many were the founding core group of Sanford Dole’s North Star Vocal Artists as well as Stephen McKersie’s Festival Singers and later Marin Symphony Chamber Chorus.
Auditions take about 8 to 10 minutes. An accompanist will be available. You will be led through some vocalises to explore range, blend and tone. Please come prepared with a solo piece, preferably an art song (a lyrical song composition for single voice and often accompaniment) that demonstrates your musicianship. The final part will be sight-reading, likely something from the year’s repertoire.
If this continues to be of interest, please complete and send us the form below. Thank you for considering singing with Consort Chorale this summer!
