Opus 16 Coming Up
Dear Consort Singers,
The centerpiece of this summer's concert will be my latest extended commission, a 30 minute multi-media work for chorus, orchestra, and visuals entitled “Touch." Inspired by paintings of renowned Chinese Christian artist He Qi, and lyrics by yours truly based on Scripture, Tao Te Ching, and Confucius, it is really David Irvine's brainchild, and it will be premiered at his church on June 28, 2009 . Some of you are joining his choir for the event. We will also honor the 200th anniversary of Franz Joseph Haydn's death by singing his "Te Deum in C." We will fill the rest of the program with some choral gems, "The Seal Lullaby" by Whitacre, "I Carry Your Heart with Me" by Dickau and Argento's "So, I'll Sing with My Voice." A little RVW, Johnson, and Gibbs will round out our program. A small budget orchestra will be included in the accompaniment design.

New Board Policy 2009:
- Singers may not miss more than one of Allan's rehearsals: May 15, June 15, July 11.
- Singers may not miss more than four of the eight summer rehearsals.
- Singers must attend all Consort Week rehearsals.

Your 12th Season Concert CD Now
The
splendid CD recording of our excellent 2005 concert will
be available at the May 19, 2006 opening rehearsal. If
you wish to pre-order, email the Dean@consortchorale.org or
purchase copies at the rehearsal.
Cost
is $15 for a single copy; or $12 for multiple copies.
Payment is by cash or check made payable to Consort
Chorale. The proceeds of all CD sales
go directly to the chorale as a fund raiser. Past
